Wrestling with Doubt...Waiting for Blessing
Week of Oct 16, 2013
This week at Saint
Matthew’s, our first lesson tells the story of Jacob wrestling with an angel,
and not letting the angel go until he received a blessing. So often in today’s world, we struggle with
questions and doubts. We pray for
blessings and hope. Our hope for you this week is that you can
spend time during your Faith5, recognizing the ways God has blessed you, and
recognizing that God does not leave you in times of questioning and doubting,
but loves you all the more. May your
time together help your family to strengthen your faith and your relationships
with each other and our awesome God.
2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible
3. TALK about how the verse relates to your highs and lows
4. PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and the world
5. BLESS one another.
Share: What is one
thing you wrestled with today? What is
one thing that made you feel blessed?
Where did you see God today?
Read:
Wednesday-James 1:17Thursday-2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Friday-Isaiah 41:13
Saturday-1 Corinthians 13:12
Sunday-Genesis 28:20-21
Monday-John 14:26
Tuesday-1 Corinthians 2:9
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For those
who are struggling to believe, for those who feel abandoned, for those in need
of blessing, for those in need of hope
Bless: Have the person being blessed hold their hands out
in front of them as if they are holding something. Place your hands on top of theirs, and say
“May God give you blessings and may you always know God is present in your
faith and in your doubts.”
