Remembering to be Thankful

Week of Oct 9, 2013

This week at Saint Matthew’s, our gospel text tells the story of 10 lepers that are healed, and only one returning to Jesus to say thank you.  So often in the world we live in, we get so busy that when God answers our prayers, we too forget to thank Him.   Our hope is that you can spend time during your Faith5 this week, recognizing the ways God has answered your prayers.  May your time together help your family to strengthen your faith and your relationships with each other and our awesome God.

Remember the Faith 5 is 5 simple steps:
1.  SHARE highs and lows of the day
2.  READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible
3.  TALK about how the verse relates to your highs and lows
4.  PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and the world
5.  BLESS one another.

Share:  What is one thing you have been most thankful for today?  What is one thing that was hard to be thankful about?  Where did you see God today?

Read:
Wednesday-1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thursday-Psalm 106:1-2
Friday-Ephesians 2:10
Saturday-Philippians 4:4
Sunday-Colossians 3:15-17
Monday-Philemon 1:4
Tuesday-Psalm 30:11

Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you?  How does it apply to you?  To how your day has gone?

Pray:  For those who are sick, for those who are lonely, for those who struggle with chronic pain, for those who struggle with addiction, for all in need of healing

Bless: Have the person being blessed hold their hands out in front of them as if they are holding something.  Place your hands on top of theirs, and say “May God give you blessings and may you be thankful for all that you’re given.”
