Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
Week of July 9th,
2014
This week at Saint Matthew’s, on Wednesday night, we
continue our summer in the parables with the Parable of the Workers in the
Vineyard. As we share the story of how the
workers in the vineyard were frustrated when the landowner seemed to treat them
unfairly, we are reminded of how God doesn’t give us what we deserve, but
instead gives us eternal life because Jesus paid for our sins. Our prayers are with you as you spend time in
your Faith 5 this week. May your time
together help your family to remember that to God you are worth dying for!
Remember the Faith 5 is 5
simple steps:
1. SHARE highs and lows of the day
2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in
your Bible
3. TALK about how the verse relates to your
highs and lows
4. PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and
the world
5. BLESS one another.
Share: Did you see
anything that seemed “unfair” today? Is
there any way that you could help the situation be more fair?
Read:
Wednesday-Acts 20:35
Thursday-1 John 1:9
Friday-Romans 6:23
Saturday-Isaiah 30:18
Sunday-Romans 8:1
Monday-Micah 6:8
Tuesday-Isaiah 1:17
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For those
in unjust working conditions, for employers and employees, for the unemployed,
for those living in poverty, for those who are hungry, for those who are angry
Bless: Make the sign of the cross on the forehead of the
one being blessed and say… “God has forgiven you, and set you free to live and
love”
