Leave Your Nets
Week of Jan 26, 2014
This week at Saint
Matthew’s, we are talking about the calling of the first disciples. Jesus told them to leave their nets and their
father and follow him. What are you
being called to leave behind so that you can follow Jesus? Our prayer for you in your Faith 5 time with
your family this week is that you can remember that you too, are given gifts
and called to use them. What are the
gifts that you have been given? How is
God calling you to use your gifts?
Remember the Faith 5 is 5
simple steps:
1. SHARE highs and lows of the day2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible
3. TALK about how the verse relates to your highs and lows
4. PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and the world
5. BLESS one another.
Share: What are
some gifts that you think God has given you?
What are some things you feel God has called you to do…today? This week?
This year? How can you as a
family encourage each other to follow after God?
Read:
Thursday-Ephesians 4:1-3Friday-Romans 11:29
Saturday-Isaiah 6:8
Sunday-John 8:31-32
Monday-John 12:26
Tuesday-1 Corinthians 11:1-2
Wednesday-1 Peter 2:21
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For those
who haven’t heard the gospel yet, for missionaries and teachers, for
confirmation students, for all those who want to strengthen their daily
discipleship walk
Bless: Hold hands together as a family and say to the
person on your right: “May you know the gifts God has given you, and may you
hear his call and follow Him.” If you
live alone, look in the mirror, and say that blessing outloud to yourself…or
better yet, grab a friend and bless each other with this week’s blessing!
