Parable of the Wicked Tenants
Week of June 18th, 2014
This week at Saint
Matthew’s, we continue our summer in the parables with the parable of the wicked
tenants. The story reminds us of how the
Son of God was going to be treated by man.
Instead of being welcomed and honored, he was killed. How do we react when God is present in our
lives? Are we ready for him and
welcoming? Or do we not take time, and
shove him out of our lives? Our prayers
are with you as you spend time in your Faith 5 this week. May your time together help your family to remember
that all things are possible with God!
Remember the Faith 5 is 5
simple steps:
1. SHARE highs and lows of the day
2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in
your Bible
3. TALK about how the verse relates to your
highs and lows
4. PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and
the world
5. BLESS one another.
Share: Where is
one place that you saw God today? Was
there a part of your day where God didn’t seem present? Share about that too.
Read:
Wednesday-Ephesians 4:32
Thursday-John 3:16-17
Friday-1 John 4:20-21
Saturday-Colossians
3:12-14
Sunday-Romans 12:9-13
Monday-Hebrews 13:2
Tuesday-Romans 12:18
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For those
facing persecution, for those who feel unloved by family members, for those who
are lonely, for those in need of protection, for those who are abused, for
abusers
Bless: Make the sign of the cross on the forehead of the
person being blessed (or on your own forehead if you are alone), and say:
“Remember, God goes with you, loves you, and protects you.”
