Day 2-MSP to Denver to Houston

On the second day of our journey we woke up bright and early at Bailey Hall at the UMN-St Paul Campus.  We walked outside to discover it was raining.  So there was a quick hike in the rain to our busses around 2 am so that we could head to the airport.  Once arriving at the airport, everything went smoothly and we got on our plane and headed for Denver.  The flight was smooth and we landed with about 20 minutes before our second plane boarded!  Thankfully our first flight landed not too far from our second flight's gate, and we made it on our second plane smoothly!  From there we were Houston bound!  All of the kids slept on the second flight which was good, considering their early start for the day!

When we landed in Houston, we all were ecstatic to see Ellie at our gate!  She had flown from her Nationals for the TSA in Atlanta!  So awesome that she was brave enough to travel on her own from Atlanta to Houston!

After finding our luggage and our rental car, we headed to the hotel.  Two out of three of our rooms were ready, so we stashed our stuff there and headed down to the Kemah Boardwalk on the gulf.  It was HOT and our bodies weren't very acclimated, but the kids had fun riding rides and moving around after sitting so long earlier in the day!  After some rides at Kemah, we had a fancy dinner at Landry's seafood at Kemah.  The kids experienced new flavors of food like calamari and lobster, and I had an awesome dinner of Mahi Mahi.  After that it was back to the hotel for some swimming in the lit pool on the roof!

Then it was off to bed!  A busy but fun day 2!
