May the end bring hope not fear!

Week of Nov 13, 2013

This week at Saint Matthew’s, we are talking how although we can feel overwhelmed by the weight of the world, and the possibility of it coming to an end, for us that idea can bring hope and not fear…for out of death comes life and promise.   Our prayer for you this week is that you can spend time during your Faith5, renewing your hope in God and in the world around you.  May your time together help your family to strengthen your faith and your relationships with each other and our merciful God.

Remember the Faith 5 is 5 simple steps:
1.  SHARE highs and lows of the day
2.  READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible
3.  TALK about how the verse relates to your highs and lows
4.  PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and the world
5.  BLESS one another.

Share:  Was there anything today that scared you or made you stressed/nervous?  Tell about that experience.  Where did you see hope today?   How did God protect you today?

Read:
Wednesday-Matthew 6:25-34
Thursday-John 14:27
Friday-Psalm 27:1
Saturday-Romans 13:11-12
Sunday-Philippians 4:6-7
Monday-Ephesians 2:8
Tuesday-1 Peter 5:7

Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you?  How does it apply to you?  To how your day has gone?

Pray:  For those who worry about the end of the world, for those who don’t yet know Christ, for children who are scared, for those facing difficult diagnoses

Bless: Hold hands as a family.  As you squeeze the hand of the person on your right, say “may you find hope in our family and in our loving God.”  If you live alone, hold out your hands in a “begging” position.  Say “God fill me with hope as I work to bring hope to the world”.
