Parable of the Wedding Banquet
Week of August 5th, 2014
This week at Saint
Matthew’s, we have our last mid-week summer worship service. We are talking about the Parable of the
Wedding Banquet. The story reminds us of
how God offers blessings to us for now reason, and we can take them for
free. But also reminds us that we need
to get out of our own way, put on the garments that God provides and follow in
his leading. God’s way is ALWAYS better
than what we imagine for ourselves. Our
prayers are with you as you spend time in your Faith 5 this week. May your time together help your family to remember
that God blesses each of you!
Remember the Faith 5 is 5
simple steps:
1. SHARE highs and lows of the day
2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in
your Bible
3. TALK about how the verse relates to your
highs and lows
4. PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and
the world
5. BLESS one another.
Share: Did you get
invited to do anything fun today? Were
you ever left out of anything fun? Did
you see anyone that was being left out today?
How could you help them feel more involved?
Read:
Wednesday-John 6:37
Thursday- Romans 15:7
Friday- Luke 6:37
Saturday-Matthew 10:40
Sunday- Luke 11:28
Monday- Isaiah 53:6
Tuesday- John 13:34-35
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For newlyweds, for those in the process of
divorce, for widows and widowers, for single people, for those who feel lonely and
neglected
Bless: Make the sign of the cross on the forehead of the
person being blessed and say “May God bless you and keep you, today and always,
and may you follow Him all the days of your life”
