Week of Jan 6, 2014-Epiphany

Week of Jan 6, 2014

This week at Saint Matthew’s, we are celebrating Epiphany.  Epiphany is the celebration of the magi bringing their gifts to Jesus.  Our prayer for you in your Faith 5 time with your family this week is that you can remember that you too, have been given gifts to share with the world.  What are the gifts you bring?  How are you sharing your gifts?

Remember the Faith 5 is 5 simple steps:
1.  SHARE highs and lows of the day
2.  READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible
3.  TALK about how the verse relates to your highs and lows
4.  PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and the world
5.  BLESS one another.

Share:  What was your favorite Christmas gift you got this year?  What was your favorite Christmas gift you gave?  What is one thing God has given you the ability to do?  How do you share that gift with others?

Read:
Thursday-James 1:17
Friday- Luke 6:38
Saturday-1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Sunday- 1 Peter 4:10
Monday- Romans 12:6-8
Tuesday- Matthew 5:14-16
Wednesday-1 Corinthians 12:27-31

Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you?  How does it apply to you?  To how your day has gone?

Pray:  For those who wonder what their gifts are, for those who feel they have no gifts, for those who are homeless in the winter, for those who are struggling to make ends meet

Bless: Have the person being blessed hold their hands out upright (begging position).  Place your hands upon theirs and say: “May you know that God has given you gifts to share with the world.”  If you live alone, hold your hands out and upright (begging position) and say: “God you have given me gifts, teach me to use them.”
