Week of May 25,2014-Parable of the Sower
This week at Saint
Matthew’s, we begin our summer in the parables with the parable of the
sower. The story reminds us that there
are different kinds of soil on which the word of God can be sown. We pray that
our hearts and our lives can be good soil…soil that is ready to hear the word
of God, and let it grow and provide fruit from our lives to share with others We recognize in the world we live in, it can
be often challenging to be good soil. We
are often feel choked out by weeds, or trampled upon. Our prayers are with you as you spend time in
your Faith 5 this week. May your time
together help your family to strengthen your faith and your relationships with
each other and our awesome God.
Remember the Faith 5 is 5
simple steps:
1. SHARE highs and lows of the day
2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in
your Bible
3. TALK about how the verse relates to your
highs and lows
4. PRAY for your highs and lows, your family and
the world
5. BLESS one another.
Share: Where is
one place you saw God at work today?
Where is one place you found it hard to see God at work?
Read:
Wednesday-Matthew 13:18-23
Thursday-James 5:7
Friday-1 Corinthians
3:6-9
Saturday-Romans 12:21
Sunday-Philippians
3:13-14
Monday-Matthew 17:20
Tuesday-Ecclesiastes 11:6
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For farmers
and their families, for those who care for animals and plants, for those who
feel trampled on by the weight of the world, for those who need support and
encouragement
Bless: If possible, have the person being blessed hold a
seed in their hand. Wrap your hand
around theirs and say… “Just as this
tiny seed can bear much fruit, so too can you.
Grow in God’s grace, be surrounded by God’s, love, and no that wherever
you go, God goes with you.”
