Living Sabbath
Week of August 28, 2013
As we enter back into these busy days of school and
sports and all that we have going on, it is so easy to lose track of our
time. Our schedules feel abnormally busy
after the summer, and we find ourselves with barely enough time to get
everything done. This week our Faith 5
focuses on Sabbath. Taking time to slow
down, breathe, and be. We pray that you are able to grab 5 minutes at
the start or close of each day as a family, and find ways to connect with your
families and our awesome God on a deeper level.
May your time together be blessed, and your busy schedule filled with
joy!
Remember the Faith 5 is 5 simple steps:
1. SHARE
highs and lows of the day
2. READ and
highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible
3. TALK about
how the verse relates to your highs and lows
4. PRAY for
your highs and lows, your family and the world
5. BLESS one
another.
Share: What
was the most stressful part of your day?
What was the most relaxing?
Why? What is one thing you did
today that made you think of God?
Read:
Thursday-Exodus 20:8
Friday-Isaiah 58:13-14
Saturday-Exodus 34:21
Sunday-Psalm 92:1-2
Monday-Exodus 31:13
Tuesday-Mark 2:27
Wednesday-Genesis 2:3
Talk: What does the daily reading mean to you? How does it apply to you? To how your day has gone?
Pray: For
each other, for those who are too busy and long to do less, for those searching
for purpose who long for more to do, for all to find rest in the Lord
Bless: Rub your hands together, and then lay them
over each other’s eyes…say may you find peace and rest in the midst of your
busy days. Rest in the Lord.
